Our team comprises a base of highly experienced environmental assessment professionals with over 20 years experience working in environmental impact assessment supported by technical experts and project scientists.  Senior level support is readily available to all projects, team members and clients.  We have a strong mentoring culture supported by regular and structured mentoring sessions delivered by Coterra Directors.

Recruitment

SENIOR/LEAD ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENTIST

 

We are seeking an environmental consultant, scientist or environmental planner to join our friendly and supportive team.  The role will comprise working on environmental impact assessment projects related to Environmental Protection Act 1986 Part IV and Part V assessments, as well as project referrals and assessments under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999. Environmental management report preparation and managing the environmental aspects of approved projects will also form part of the role.

 

The majority of our work is completed from Perth, although there are opportunities for occasional work in the southwest, great southern and north-west.  Our flexible working arrangements include opportunities to work from home or office environments, and in casual, part-time or full-time roles.

 

The most important aspect of welcoming a new team members is for the candidate to be a good fit within our existing close-knit team, and we are therefore open to considering applications from people with a variety of science or environmental planning backgrounds that may be a well suited addition to our team.  Ideally, desired skills and experience required to fulfill this role include:

 

  • A degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management or similar

  • 4+ years experience in environmental impact assessment/approvals, environmental management planning, licensing or works approvals, botanical/ecological assessments, Local, State or Federal Government assessment, compliance or similar advisory roles

  • A good working knowledge of relevant federal and state environment legislation

  • Demonstrated high standard of written work

  • Experience with regulatory liaison and maintaining client relationships

  • Experience in project and budget management
